Accounting and advisory firm has an opening in their New Jersey office for a Jr Software support specialist to interface with clients, provide support for accounting software including QuickBooks and Sage 50. Seeking an outgoing candidate with a strong foundational understanding of accounting and bookkeeping and a desire to work in a client-facing role.
Implementation and maintenance of technical support best practices database.
Research and resolution of client support issues.
Fulfill requests and answer technical inquiries about supported products.
Work directly with end users to create effective solutions.
Obtain an understanding of key business needs and align the support team accordingly.
Lead role on systems implementations and upgrades in the product families which are supported.
Assist in client development activities, including proposals for new work.
A proven record (1-5 years) as application support engineer, preferably in a small to medium size company.
Knowledge of accounting software including Sage 50, QuickBooks, or Zoho books.
Experience with implementations or integrations or data mining.
Understand business process management and customer's business requirements along with the ability to translate these into specific functional requirements.
Able to verify client requirements against core functionality, identifying differences and gaps.
Document, analyze and map the different data feeds that populate/retrieve data to/from the application pool.
Develop and conduct user training.
Assist in the investigation and resolution of system defects raised through the support desk, as needed.
Advanced skills in problem analysis, troubleshooting, and implementing changes.
Excellent communication skills for communicating solutions between clients, product managers and QA/development engineers.
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant area, preferably in accounting from a four-year College or University.
